I made that sunset juice again tonight for dinner. I used a beet, a sweet potato, a carrot, 2 apples and an orange. Wow, it was fantastic!
I don't know why the pictures are distorted but I just wanted to show everyone that I really am drinking these juices.
I weighed myself tonight and I've lost another 3 pounds!! Woohoo!!
What I'm really liking about this plan is that I'm not hungry. I have cravings but I know they have nothing to do with being hungry. It's amazing how many food commercials are on TV! Wow! They even have food in non-food commercials. It's crazy. I'm just glad that I'm not hungry all day long. I couldn't tolerate that very well. I had 2 juices today. I'm slowly working my way up to 4 a day. I'd like to do 5 days of just juice then go back to juice and whole fruits and veggies along with nuts and seeds. I think it's doable. I'm also having the blended fruit (sorbet). That helps with the sweets cravings.
I was tired all day today but I think that's because of the medication I take. My legs were really sore today so I took some pain medicine and that still has me sleepy 3 hours later. One day I won't be in so much pain and I won't have to take so many medications. I'm hoping that soon this drawer will be (nearly) empty.
So on day five of this lifestyle change I'm doing well. Still haven't gotten rid of the bagels and cream cheese. It's like a crutch for me. Just knowing it's there and I could have it if I wanted to makes not having it easier. Oh yeah, this morning when I put gas in the car I had a real hard time because of the convenience store there. I so wanted to go in and buy some junk food. I didn't though and that's a victory. If I can get over being so tired and if I can feel some reduction in pain I'll know this is all going in the right direction. I can't wait to see Dr. Fouss in the fall. I hope I'm doing really well by then and we can talk about me going off some of my meds. I'll probably see Shellie (my PA) sooner though to talk about my test results from the endocrinologist. I'd like to get some lab work in a month to see how I'm doing. Going off the cholesterol med and the GERD med would be nice. I haven't had any stomach problems in the lasts 5 days and no reflux either. That is awesome.
David sees the neurologist tomorrow. I'm hoping that the shaking he has in his left hand is something that eating better can help with. I'm sure he'll order some testing. I'm just praying that it's not anything serious.
Okay, that's it for now. Maybe I'll remember to take a picture of the sorbet tonight. ;)
