I went to Ila's noon meeting today. The topic this week is scale surprise. I've added a picture of her topic presentation because it was so nice looking. She asked if we'd ever received a gift from the scale. I'd have to say that on Tuesday, losing 5.4 pounds was a definite gift after gaining 1.4 pounds the week before. I just followed the suggestions that Karen gave me and it worked. I've posted them before but there are the things I'm doing differently:
* no juice (I had used 41 points on juice the week that I gained)
* lots of herbal tea to get my liquids in
* eat more protein and less carbohydrates
* eat more fruits and vegetables
* get more milk
* get more healthy oil
* follow the GHG's
* track everything that goes in my mouth
Just doing those things made a huge difference for me. This week I'm trying to not weigh myself at home and focus on my behavior instead of the scale. I have 5 more days until WI again and I hope I can stay off the scale at home. I will only weigh myself once a week AFTER my WI meeting.
Ila asked today what things we are doing that make a difference and I told her that I'm doing my best to follow the GHG's and I'm tracking I got 2 Bravo stickers for mentioning those 2 things. That was cool. I'm really glad I went to the meeting because talking about the NSV's is very motivating to me. My non-scale victory was having more energy and not feeling the need to nap 3 or 4 times a day. I have been napping once though because I'm still not sleeping at night.
Bayou is in daycare today so I haven't been getting up and down all morning to let her in and out so that means my knee if feeling a little bit better. I did go to the 1/2 hour meeting and that irritated my knee just a bit. I have to leave in about 15 minutes to go to my appointment with Alicia. Climbing the stairs will give me some activity points but I hope it doesn't aggravate my knee too much. I'll have an hour to sit down after the stairs.
For lunch today I had a PB&J sandwich, pretzels and grapes. We're pretty much out of grapes so I'll stop by the store on my way home today before I pick up Bayou. I hope the walking doesn't hurt too much. I should wear my brace but I'm not sure if I can drive with it. I'll have to try it and see. That way I can get around the grocery store easier.
I'll post a picture of my Bravo stickers later. I always feel good when I get some stickers. My next goal is my 5% of weight loss. I get a big star for that. I can't wait to get it. I hope to get it within the next few weeks. I don't expect to lose another 5 pounds this week. I'm sure it will taper off some but I hope I still have a weigh loss. Since I'm not weighing myself I wont' know until Tuesday unless I can feel it in my clothes and see it in my behavior. That's the most important thing anyway, making this a lifestyle change.
I hope everyone is having a good day. For all my WW friends who have sick puppies I hope your vets are able to figure out what's wrong and can fix your little babies. I'm praying for all of you and thinking of you all too. I'll check in again later this afternoon.
