Songs I listen to when I"m happy, sad, bored, hyper, mad

30 Days of Blogging - Day #10

I don't listen to any particular songs when I'm feeling a certain way. Instead I listen to a genre of music. Most of the time I listen to classical music. I love our local classical public radio station, KCME, 88.7 (they stream online too). The music almost always fits my mood. Sometimes it's hard to get into a Sousa march but on the rare occasion I can find myself "marching" while I drive. LOL

Sometimes though it's only smooth Jazz that will do it for me. I love Chris Botti (he's a trumpet player) and his style of music. Yet there are still other times when a good Windham Hill CD will fit my mood perfectly. William Ackerman is a favorite of mine along with George Winston, Michael Hedges (may he RIP) or any of the others in the WH stable.

I can also be caught listening to country music if it's on the radio station in my car (my husband listens to that a lot) but most times I turn it back over to classical. The classical music just sings to my soul. I feel classical music in my heart not just my ears. I love listening to symphonies, baroque my favorite conductor Sir Neville Marriner conducting the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields. I love any piece that he conducts.

On my iPod I also have Norah Jones, Natalie Merchant, Dave Koz and others. I love putting the iPod on shuffle and being surprised by what I hear next.

So that's about it for my musical tastes. What genres do you listen to?
