On Plan

I'll be starting my 7th week tomorrow and I've been tracking this whole time. I've done my best at being on plan (or what I thought on plan was). I've been tweaking things as I go along after talking to my WW leaders. I've lost 15.2 lbs to date so I must be doing something right. I'm happy with the change in lifestyle and don't feel like I'm on a diet at all (well, because I'm not! lol). I haven't been bringing junk food into the house or getting it while I'm out either. I used to eat a lot of junk food while driving (it doesn't count as calories if you're driving, right? lol) but will now find myself bringing along a piece of fruit or a WW bar for those times that I want something. I'm not bored with my eating and I'm having fun with eTools, meetings and the online community. Overall, I'm pretty happy about the way things are going.

The only negative thing in all of this is my knee injury. I have an appointment with a new orthopedic doctor on Monday morning. I wasn't happy with my regular orthopedics treatment last time I saw him in the end of October. He basically made it seem like I was too fat for any kind of surgery. Well, I wasn't there to ask for surgery in the first place. I just wanted to know what was wrong with my knee. He gave me an injection in my knee without even taking the x-rays first or getting an MRI done. Yes, it did help a bit but overall I'm in more pain now in my whole knee than I was before the shot.

I felt like I was just a fat person asking for an easy fix to my knee problem. He didn't even seem to hear that I was on WW, losing weight and wanting to get to exercising so I could lose more weight. He just jumped in and said no knee replacement at my current weight. Well, phooey on him! I'm hoping PT can take care of the problem (a tear in the lateral meniscus, over worn medial meniscus and arthritis in the knee), not surgery. But if surgery is what will fix the tear I'm all for it no matter what weight I'm at. I'm staying on the WW plan and will continue to lose weight and that will only help my knee.

I'm bound and determined not to let this knee injury throw me off track. I'm staying on the WW plan no matter what. I am going to make my goal weight no matter how long it takes me. Getting my knee attended to will only make that goal be met quicker.

I hope you are staying on plan, tracking and feeling content about choosing WW as your way of life. Have a great day!
