I was up off and on all night last night (from about midnight on). When David got up he told me to go back to bed and he would watch Bayou. I asked him to wake me up in thirty minutes so I could go to the 9am meeting. Thirty minutes went by quickly but I was able to sleep. I got to the meeting with about five minutes to spare. Anne led the meeting. There were a lot of people at the meeting today. I was surprised there were so many people there on a Sunday church-time meeting. The topic was about what we do while we watch TV and what we could do to avoid eating/snacking mindlessly. Some of the things Anne talked about were:
* hobbies
* exercise
* being on the computer (me, pick me!! lol)
* choosing healthy snacks
* limiting TV time

Talking about it made me realize that I'm not mindlessly snacking like I used to do. I eat my planned meals and snacks during the day with the TV off. The TV is usually on for dinner and the evening snack but it's not taking my mind off of what I'm eating. I make healthier choices. I'm not sitting there eating a candy bar, a bag of skittles and drinking a soda while watching TV.
I spend more time on the laptop than I do watching TV. Even when the TV is on I'm online. I spend a lot of time on the WW community which is a good thing I guess. I need the support, encouragement and motivation that I get from the WW site and the community. I also don't mindlessly snack while on the laptop. I drink a lot of tea and once in a while have a snack while surfing online (pecans, grapes, things like that).
The meeting went by way too fast though. I felt like I could have stayed for an hour without a problem but this meeting is just 30 minutes. That's why I like Karen's Tuesday morning meeting, it's an hour long. I also like Pat's Monday morning meeting because there aren't quite as many people so we all get to participate. I'm looking forward to getting my 4 additional paperclips tomorrow. I have to wait a whole week to get my paper clips. I don't know how my weight is doing this week. I've been feeling bloated and like I'm retaining fluids. I may have to take my diuretics for a couple of days to get the water weight off. Not to get a good weigh in but to reduce this bloated feeling. I think it's because of the injury to my knee. My body is holding on to fluids to fight the inflammation.
After the meeting I went to the grocery store and picked up a few things that I had on my list. I spent about 30 minutes there because I went by my list instead of going up and down the aisles. So I did a lot of backtracking. But that's okay because I got some AP's in. Once I got out and got the groceries loaded in the car I realized I had forgotten a couple things David had asked for so I had to go back into the store and pick them up. More AP's!!
About an hour after I got home and put the groceries away I made lunch (just PB&J and chips with a Pumpkin Oat Bread snack). Now I'm full and won't need anything until later.
I realized too this morning that I didn't fight cravings for doughnuts. David even told me he was going to the 7-Eleven and I didn't even think to ask for doughnuts. That's progress. I'm getting out of the pastry habit and into the healthier food habit. Now if I get a pastry it will be planned for and wanted not because I'm having a craving and feel myself getting all emotional because I can't have one. Things are changing.
I started a 19 days of thankfulness challenge on the WW site. Please feel free to come and join us. Each day we're listing things that we are thankful for in our lives. I know the one thing I'll be grateful for each day is that I finally joined WW. I'm so glad it finally clicked for me.
Now I'm playing on the laptop and watching NASCAR. I can't ask for much more than that. Hope everyone is having a great afternoon and is staying on plan.
