Sometimes I think that because I have so much weight to lose that losing 10 or 20 pounds won't make a difference. Then I look at the success stories on the WW site and see people who have lost 20 pounds and what a big difference it really does make. I'm only looking at the next pound but I'm excited to see what it will be like to be 20 pounds lighter. I know it will make a difference in how my knee feels. It still hurts a lot right now but 20 pounds from now it will feel so much better, I just know it. I have to appreciate every ounce and every pound that I lose because I'm putting in the effort to make it happen. Even when I don't lose or even gain, I need to remember that I'm always working and making a difference. I need to do my measurements too so that I can keep track of that. When I might not have a loss I may have inches going or my clothes might be looser. I need to pay attention to those things too. It's not all about the weight loss every week.
I'm getting a lot of help from the WW online community regarding cooking. I was referred to a book that I ordered off of half.com called "How to cook everything". I could use that kind of help. I also bookmarked a website called skinnytaste.com. There are a lot of recipes on that site and they have the WW PP values. I can maybe get recipe ideas there. It seems like there are a lot of simple things to cook on that site and that's what I want. I have stuff here to cook for the rest of the week so I should be okay but after that I'm going to need help meal planning and with making a grocery list. I can't wait for the book to arrive because it has 1000 pictures in the book. I need pictures to help me to figure out what the meals should look like. They have pictures on the website too. I can also use the WW site for recipes.
This afternoon I had a ham and cheese sandwich for a late lunch. I may have a bowl of cereal for dinner since I still have 48 weekly points left. I was going to have a salad but I don't feel like having salad tonight. David had a PB&J sandwich. That sounds good too. Though cereal will only have a 3-4 PP value. Plus I can get in another fruit. (I had the cereal and banana.)
I'm looking forward to Pat's WW meeting tomorrow. She's always entertaining and informative. She always seems to give us information that no one else does (like the center moving across the street and that activity device that WW is coming out with). She's also very blunt about things which is good. You know where she stands on things. I need to ask her about her story and how much weight she has lost. I'm sure she must have a "before" picture to show us. I have my before picture taped to the inside of my weight tracker. I'll move it from tracker to tracker as I lose weight.
These first few pounds for me are the hardest. Not the hardest to lose but the hardest because it's so difficult to see any physical difference. I want to be down in the 270's again like I was last winter. That would make me feel good. It will happen in the next few weeks so I just have to be patient. I need to have something every week to get a "Bravo" sticker. Those NSV's will mean a lot to me and keep me motivated. Stickers will have to tide me over until I get some WW bling. There will be a lot for me to get since I have so much to lose. Onward and downward as I say now. LOL
