Fitness Clubs (Gold's Gym)

I got a Gold's Gym flyer in the mail today. I went online and got a 7 day VIP Pass and set up a fitness test for Saturday at 9am. They have a $9.95/month special right now. They are also a mini-ranch for Biggest Losers. Anyway, I'll check it out and see if it's something I'd be interested in. I'm still going to start hiking tomorrow. I did find a waist pack that holds 2 water bottles. It's a High Sierra lumbar pack from Altrec. It'll get here around Tuesday of next week. Until then I'll just carry a bottle with me. I'm sure I won't be out there too long this first week. I can just walk the out and back portion of the trail that is more flat. That will be a good starting workout. I know though that I'll try to do the whole loop but I don't want to over do and then not be able to do anything and be in pain for a week. I need to be smart about this.

I don't know if the Power's Gold's Gym that I'm going to has a pool or not but I'm hoping that it does. I'd like to get to do some water exercise and walking to take the pressure off my knees. I don't want to get too excited about it in case it doesn't work out.

I'll have to get myself on a schedule once I start exercising again. I want to add in the Qi Gong into the mix too. I have the video tapes to do that and could go to a class for $10 once or twice a month. I really want to get back to a decent weight (I'm shooting for 174 lbs.) and feel good again. I'm in pain every day right now. I'm tired and get winded so easily. Working out is going to be really difficult at first. I've just got to do what I can and take it slow. It's not going to do me any good to over do it and hurt myself. I'm hoping my knees will hold up for hiking. My right one especially is really sore and tender if I move it the wrong way. I'd wear a brace if I could find one that is big enough but I don't want to keep spending money. I'll have to check the brace container and see if there is a knee brace in there that might fit.

I haven't had dinner yet tonight. I need to have something. I wish I hadn't had those donuts for breakfast but what's done is done. I'm still on track for the day so far. I think I'll just have a sandwich for dinner, ham and cheese. That actually sounds really good. I need to get in some fruits and/or veggies too. I had some pico de gallo on the nacho plate so that helps but I need to get my fruits/veggies up to 5/day. I also need to get my dairy in too. It just seems like it's a lot of food to deal with and it's going to take me some time to get everything worked into my daily plan.

I'm excited about weighing in tomorrow. I know I've lost some weight so it'll be a positive weigh in. I'm not sure if I'm going to stay for the meeting or not. Probably will since I'll be there already. It's a quick meeting, just 30 minutes, so it makes sense to stay for it. Plus, I might get a reward if I lose 5 lbs (or more). I think after tomorrow I might change my weigh in day to Wednesday. I'll ask though and see if I can weigh in on Friday but celebrate victories on Wednesdays. I'll have to think about that. I'll probably be so excited at weigh in that I'll want to share it at that day's meeting.

Okay, time to go make a sandwich for dinner.
