Has anyone else been using this feature in the tracker? I'm figuring out which foods/meals make me satisfied or full and which ones leave me feeling hungry. I've been going back and looking at those foods/meals and I realize I could make different choices for usually the same or less PPV's.
I can fill up on healthier foods and not feel like I need something else to feel, at the least, satisfied. My morning bowl of cereal is a good example of that. For 8 PPV's I get a bowl of cereal ( 1 1/2 cups of rice krispies, 1 Tbsp. sugar and 1 cup of skim milk). For that many points I could probably choose some healthier foods and feel more satisfied at the end of it.
I'm just so stuck on my bowl of cereal in the morning because it's quick to fix. It's not that I'm lazy, it's that I'm not in the habit of doing much of anything else for breakfast. I did have waffles for breakfast this morning but all I'm eating is sugar and carbs in the morning. I guess that's what I crave.
So I need to come up with a different strategy for food/meals. I know that I need to incorporate more Power Foods in my day. I did put a list on the fridge. I think when I shop this week I'll take the list with me and highlight some foods that I will eat but don't typically get.
There's still plenty of food in the house though so I won't have to pick up much when I grocery shop. I'll get some AP's for walking while I shop. That's always a good thing. I can't walk too much though because of my knee. The shopping has to get done though. I may do it today after I drop off Bayou.
I think I'll go to King Soopers again. I liked shopping their because of the variety. It has a more variety than Target does. Their prices are comparable and the have this new feature called nuval that tells you the NUtritional VALue of foods. Like broccoli is 100 and cheerios are 37. It just gives you a starting point for buying foods and drinks. I look at that but make my choices based on WW points.
It's almost time to go and drop off Bayou at daycare. I'll stop at KS after that. Then once I'm home I'll work on getting the laundry caught up. At 1pm I"m going over to Lisa's. I'm going to bring her some chocolate because she's had a very difficult week. The trick will be not eating a ton of it myself. Maybe I can get myself a little snack thing of apples or carrots so I won't have to sit there without eating something the whole time. I'll have a few chocolates but I don't want to go overboard like I usually do. Maybe I'll just skip the chocolate and get us a small veggie tray. That would be better for both of us. I'll see what they have at KS when I go this morning.
I only got an extra hour's sleep when I went back to bed because Bayou wanted out of the kennel so she could go sleep on the couch. If she didn't chew things I'd let her sleep there at night but she can't be trusted quite yet. She's not even asking to go to daycare today. She's pooped from the last 3 days of daycare. As I always say, a tired dog is a good dog!
I hope everyone has a great day today and stays on plan. If you need any support or encouragement, let me know. I'd love to be your cheerleader. Later gator.
